Rocky Mountain Rafts began in 2011 with one goal: to build commercial-grade rafts at a price weekend boaters and river guides can afford. After seven years, we are now helping more people enjoy the river than some manufacturers who have been in business for decades. Why? Our boats are built using state-of-the-art technology: UV-resistant PVC, triple-welded seams, radio-frequency welded D-rings and handles. Dependable, affordable, and fun… just add water!

Our Story

Rocky Mountain Rafts started as an outfitter in Crested Butte, Colorado on the banks of the Taylor River. It's owner, Denny Hugo, didn't have lofty expectations, he just loved rafting and wanted to share his passion by helping other people get out on the water. When he couldn't find any affordable, high-quality boats on the market, he decided to build his own. Since 2011, RMR has grown to become one of the top raft manufacturers in the country. We continue to strive to make the best value boats on the water, but we want you to be the judge of that.

Our Values

We want more people to enjoy the river.

That means more time running rapids, less time gluing patches on the bank; more time enjoying friends and family, less time worrying about your boat.

Our Material

We build our boats with a thicker, heavier material than most boat manufacturers. PVC is renown for its stiffness. While it may not roll as easily as most other material, the material inflates to a firm level and provides predictable hole-punching hits on the water.

Our Design

With a combined experience of over 50 years in the whitewater industry, our team started with a few simple models, tweaking them each year after listening to feedback from boaters across the country.
