Great boat! The construction is top notch. I did some R1 with it, but then built a frame as I love to row. First trip was down the MF Salmon, and had a ball. It will surf very easy like most cats, if you’re into that. Tracks and spins well too. Also use it to fish out of, so very versatile. The price has gone up, but it’s still a bargain!

This by far has been one of the best experiences I have had with the boating industry. I wanted a raft to take my girlfriend and my kids out on. I bought a used Star self-bailer 12’ raft. Not knowing anything about rafting really at all because I am a kayaker not a rafter. That raft was WAY too heavy to take just my girl and I out on the river. I had the chance to paddle a Phatcat a few weeks later and lets just say it was love at first sight. This thing is just AWESOME!!! So, since I am a certified kayak instructor I wanted to see if I could get a Pro-deal on one. Within mins of calling a sales rep at RMR I was approved and then found out that the warehouse was within driving distance. The next morning I was loading up my new Phatcat from their warehouse. The customer service was absolutely awesome! The experience over all was amazing. After my 4.5 hour drive home, I took my girlfriend out on that Phatcat and she LOVED it!!! That Phatcat is only 51lbs!! Super easy for put-in and take-out. This thing is literally the best for R2. It tackles anything you want with ease. Really the best way I can describe this little raft is convenient. For two people, this little raft is awesome fun. It rolls up super small and you can tuck this thing away in the trunk of a small car with no issue at all. Again, this Phatcat is awesome!! Thanks RMR!!!!

My lady friend and I purchased one of these boats during the spring of this year and have had nothing but great experiences in it! We have run anything from class 2-5 in it and this thing charges! It turns on a dime, it’s extremely stable and is light as a feather! I would recommend buying handles and glueing them two and two on the inside of the pontoons front and back in case you decide to throw a frame on it! Buy this whitewater machine and I promise you won’t regret it!

Great boat… super solid construction! Bought mine this summer and have an absolute blast. Put and par frame on it and I’ve used it both as a gear boat for multi day trips and single day runs. This rig handles anything you throw at it and can haul some serious loads. Light, nimble, turns on a dime, and super stable! Love it! Super stoked to add this to
    My fleet!

What a revelation! Guided 14′ rafts on the Ocoee for the last 17 years. Was looking to pick up a Scout but then a friend at Rock Creek Outfitters told me to try the PhatCat. Life changer……Fast, fun, agile and crushes big waves like nothing I’ve ever paddled. Great construction and just downright fun to S1 or S2. I am a changed man! Ended up buying an Animas ducky too…..RMR ROCKS!

bought a phatcat in 2017 planning to build a frame and use for short-long self supports. since building this up, i rarely use my sotar 16′ cat since this one is so much easier to deal with, rig, and way way more fun. built a 8′ 6″ frame and carry a 50Qt cooler and a similar sized waterproof plastic dry box. also built a 1/2′ polyethylene floor that i suspend from d-rings i added so that i can easily stand up in it and not have my feet in water for long times when it’s really loaded for long trips. also added handles to each side. i can easily carry all the gear, food, and beer for 2-3 week trips without going full backpack style. or, can carry wife and our stuff for a two or three night trip. have run rogue, high-water salt, cataract, etc. and it never ceases to amaze how fun and able it is. one nit to pick is that the thwarts were glued in such that the main tubes angle in at the bottom so the bottom chafe strips are not centered and are more on the inside than the outside. overall though, i am super happy with it. especially nice as the drought worsens in the southwest and low water is the norm. i hope to pull off a grand canyon trip in it if i could just score a permit! i think it would be a wonderful boat for that.
