Built like river gear. Shaped like a recliner. The RMR RTD-44 River Recliner combines heavy-duty welded PVC construction with a tapered 44-inch profile that sits lower under your legs and rises behind your back for a more relaxed position on the water.

Best for: youth, smaller-to-medium adults, relaxed river floats, people who want more back support than a traditional round tube, and riders who still want an easy reach to the water.

The 44" River Recliner

The RTD-44 starts with the same durable construction philosophy as RMR's traditional river tubes, but the shape is intentionally different.

Instead of using a symmetrical wall all the way around, the RTD has a diminishing profile. The front of the tube sits lower where your legs extend over the edge, while the rear rises higher behind you for support.

RMR designed this shape specifically around lounging comfort and calls the RTD models its most comfortable river tubes.

Why Choose the 44"?

RMR recommends the 44-inch River Recliner for youth and smaller-to-medium adults.

The smaller diameter also keeps the river closer to your hands. That makes it easier to reach the water for steering, repositioning, or pushing away from obstacles than it may be in the larger 48-inch version.

If more interior room matters more than reach, step up to the RTD-48.

Heavy-Duty PVC Instead of Thin Vinyl

RMR builds the RTD-44 from 33 oz / 1100-denier PVC with welded seams. It is the same general material-and-welding approach RMR uses across its river-tube line.

The goal is a reusable river tube intended for repeated floating and moving-water use instead of a lightweight disposable-style recreational tube.

RTD vs. RTR: What's the Difference?

The choice comes down to shape.

Choose an RTD River Recliner if lounging comfort is the priority. Its lower front and taller rear let you sit in a more reclined position.

Choose an RTR Regular River Tube if you prefer the traditional symmetrical tube shape and want the extra versatility of a tube RMR says can also be flipped over for use as a flat camp table.

RTD-44 vs. RTD-48

Both use the same recliner-style profile. The difference is fit and space.

Choose the RTD-44 for youth, smaller-to-medium adults, or easier access to the water.

Choose the RTD-48 for larger adults, more lounging room, or an adult floating with one smaller child.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "diminishing" mean on the RTD-44?

It refers to the tube's tapered profile. The front is lower where your legs sit, while the back rises higher to provide support in a reclined position.

Who is the RTD-44 best for?

RMR recommends the 44-inch River Recliner for youth and smaller-to-medium adults. It is also the better RTD choice for adults who want an easier reach to the water.

Is the RTD more comfortable than the regular RTR tube?

RMR specifically designed the RTD as its comfort-focused River Recliner. The lower front and taller rear create a more reclined seating position than the symmetrical RTR design.

What is the difference between RTD and RTR river tubes?

RTD tubes have a tapered recliner shape with a lower front and taller back. RTR tubes use a symmetrical traditional round shape with no front-to-back taper.

Should I choose the RTD-44 or RTD-48?

Choose the RTD-44 for a smaller overall fit and easier water reach. Choose the RTD-48 if you are a larger adult or simply want the maximum amount of room in the River Recliner design.

Is the RTD-44 made for river use?

Yes. RMR markets its river tubes for floating and moving-water use and builds them from heavy PVC with welded seams. Appropriate river conditions and rider ability should always determine where a tube is used.

What is the RTD-44 made from?

RMR uses 33 oz / 1100-denier PVC with welded seams.

Does the RTD-44 include a pump?

No. A pump is not included.

What warranty does the RTD-44 have?

RMR lists a 2-year warranty for its river tubes, subject to the manufacturer's complete warranty terms.
