Sawyer Dynelite Shoal Cut Oar Blade
A wide, teardrop-shaped DyneLite blade designed specifically for rowing shallow water and managing fishing drifts. The Sawyer Shoal Cut puts more blade width into a 30-inch profile so the rower can engage useful blade area without dipping as deeply into the water.
Built for Shallow-Water Rowing
The Shoal Cut changes the shape of the standard DyneLite into a wider teardrop profile. RMR and Sawyer list the blade at 8.5 inches wide at the belly and 30 inches long.
That wider profile is designed to let the rower engage useful blade area with less of the blade submerged than a conventional whitewater profile—an advantage when rowing over shallow riffles and other skinny water.
Designed with Fishing in Mind
The Shoal Cut is specifically positioned for anglers. Its shallow-water blade shape helps the rower manage the boat through fishing water while working to slow the boat and extend drifts through productive sections.
DyneLite Carbon & Douglas Fir Construction
Underneath the different blade shape is Sawyer's DyneLite construction: a laminated Douglas fir core covered with carbon fiber for a stiff, lightweight blade.
The blade is sealed with marine-grade varnish and reinforced with Dynel along the edges.
Dynel/Kevlar Pro-Tip
Sawyer adds its Dynel/Kevlar Pro-Tip to protect the working end of the blade—particularly relevant for a blade designed to spend time rowing shallower water.
Tite-Set Blade Lock
The Shoal Cut uses Sawyer's Tite-Set connection and is compatible with PoleCat, MXS, and other compatible composite shafts using the appropriate mount.
